On Odysee I've uploaded an half-hour screencast video in which I introduce the community and give a few tips on how you can best start here:

I find the video starts too slowly and is overall too long. Maybe there could be a shorter, more captivating right from the start version later? I really don't think people will watch such long videos, especially when they are not already huge fans of the channel.

Yes, after I've finished translating the book, I will create and upload several new videos, and will try to make them a lot better. :)

For me, the video was made well enough, there are much longer ones out there that give much less useful information. Still I'm looking forward of course to any new ones, especially after I've watched the Crisis Help Cast Trailer which indeed looks much much much improved from the video discussed here in this thread, in fact I find the CHC format might be the best way to inform people. Subscribed to the channel already! :)

For the past several weeks (I really needed a break from working on my book, and from the whole political crisis, which got indeed almost totally off my mind while developing my video software), I've worked for my video channels on Odysee, to get both my topic casts and my music videos started.
For all of them see http://voyson.info/videos

CHC looks promising indeed! Still quite long-ish, but then I think many good things also need some time. One cannot compress beyond a certain amount, or else it will make no sense anymore or be too hard to understand. And you also don't ask for a great new piece of music that shall not be longer than 3 seconds, this makes no sense. So, take your time. Many of the biggest channels have almost only long videos, first and foremost KenFM, but also Bodo Schiffmann, the Coronaausschuss and many many others.

I expect to end up making a few long-ish videos still in the beginning, but over time I will do more and more shorter videos, interspersed with a few longer ones from time to time. Let's see if that covers reality as it unfolds! ;)

First: Didn't this forum have likes before? I haven't been here in a while, sorry for that, but is my memory wrong or were the likes removed, and if so why? (I found them practical, it allowed one to simply like a post and you didn't have to write a whole speech in reply every time ...)

On topic: The intro video is ... well ... let's say: okay. Some things are indeed interesting, but also I find the video way too long. And seen now again, it's badly outdated. I think you should make a new one, shorter, up-to-date.

Yes, I originally had a module installed called Thanks, which worked like Likes. However, this produced unhealthy amounts of useless notifications which I could not fix in the time I have, so I rather decided to disable it, even though I too liked it apart from that unfortunate bug.

As for the video, yes, I should really do an updated version some day, but I think this is something best saved for after I have actually finished translating the book.
